Bridge Information

The Ballard Road Covered Bridge was built 1883. It is a seven-panel Howe Covered Bridge, and measures 80 feet in length. The bridge was bypassed in 1998 when the construction of US Route 35 truncated Ballard Road, although the bridge is still open to traffic. In 2017, the bridge underwent a major restoration, which consisted of taking the bridge apart and putting it back together with repaired, restored, and new members. The roof and siding were also replaced during the restoration.
