Bridge Information

The Route 73 Bridge over West Branch Ausable River, also called the Route 73 Ski Jump Bridge and the Route 73 Interval Bridge, was replaced in 2017 as part of a multi-bridge contract to rebuild critical infrastructure. This bridge replaced the 85-year-old camelback Warren pony truss that was previously there. The new bridge aims to provide a stronger and more resilient structure that can withstand the floods that occur in this region.

Along with building a new structure, it appears that the roadway alignment was also changed. The new structure utilizes curved girders, which means that the roadway curve continues through the area. The previous bridge was straight, so there were tighter curves before and after the bridge to compensate.
