Bridge Information
The Tri-County Triangle Trail (also called the Paint Creek Recreational Trail) is a rail trail on the alignment of the Dayton & Southeastern Railroad. The railroad right-of-way was gained in 1871 to try and connect the towns of western Ohio and the coal mines of southeast Ohio with a standard gauge railroad. Unfortunately, there were financial set-backs, and construction did not start until 1875. The railroad was abandoned in the 1970’s, and in 1990 it was converted to a recreational trail.
This bridge was constructed at some point to remove an at grade trail crossing.
