Bridge Information

The Monocacy Park Suspension Bridge is a small pedestrian bridge in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. The bridge was built by the Works Project Administration sometime between 1935 as part of Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s New Deal. The bridge was part of the construction of Monocacy Park, which used the vacant Illick’s Mill as a centerpiece.

The bridge features two 40 ft towers made from hand-cut stones that were quarried in Bethlehem and cut by local craftsmen.
